Who Am I?

I am one of the last of the true romantics.

I conform to a fading set of rules, those of the hopeless romantic. I am a poet, an artist, an adventurer, and an explorer who is not afraid of the unknown. I also have an open mind that allows me work well under any conditions, but it also causes some problems in a city deeply rooted in tradition (Columbia,SC).

I am 23, and currently a senior at The University of South Carolina trying to get an M.A. in history. In my spare time I love to travel, most recently was my second trip to London and Paris, but I've been all over Europe as well. I also love the outdoors. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping; it really makes me feel in touch with the past and my primitive roots (kind of like transcendentalism with guns). I am also a movie freak. I sometimes get strange looks when I suggest to a woman that maybe we could stay home with an old black and white movie. It's not because I am cheap , but because I see film as a means of artistic expression, and I can't dance to save my life. Speaking of art, my favorite works are the Pieta by Michelangelo, the Birth Of Venus by Botticelli, and some pop art by Andy Warhole.

I also have a tendency to question life and its components. Sometimes I'm serious, and sometimes I like to laugh about it. Here is my chance to let others take a peek into my head and witness my pseudo-philosophy in action.
